Cindy (Cassman) Bauer was born in Davenport, IA where she grew up the youngest of three children. During her childhood, she was an avid reader and had always dreamed of becoming a writer. Marriage, career changes and relocation filled her time and she left her dream behind.
After gaining employment with a small town newspaper, her dream resurfaced and with encouragement from her husband and sister, Cindy wrote Chasing Memories, the first book in a planned trilogy, with publication of Shades of Blue expected in 2007. Her sister, Debra C. LaVelle, is her editor and is a former journalism teacher.
Cindy married her husband, Robert, in 1976. The couple moved to Missouri in 1986 when her mother became terminally ill. They decided to stay and make it their home and still reside there with their two pets, Shadow and Samantha.
