LEGACY OF SIN LEGACY OF SIN narrates the story of the corrupt system of the Indian democracy; the so-called largest democracy in the world after America. In the beginning of the novel appears Mr. Bedi the narrator of the novel who navigates the readers through various incidents. Mr. Mohanty the Minister who was there to loot the system while Santhanam and Neha who are there to clean up the system. Neha under goes various tortures by the administration still she fights back. Mohanty accumulates a lot of wealth using his power. Santhanam and his colleagues try to find out the cause of a mysterious disappearance of a file from the labour ministry as it was related to labour reforms Mohanty get it spoilt. The railway minister's nexus with mafia comes out one day .To hide the secretes Pacheni his associate was killed. Pacheni's wife struggles to bring up the children until the court comes out to rescue her. Mohanty's wife dies due to an unknown disease, which changes him eventually he turns to spiritualism. The chilling story narrated in such a way that any one who uses unethical measures to achieve material benefits eventually end s up nowhere. The novel emphasis on a universal truth that not only the material but also the soul which is associated with every life and that is closely connected to the unknown power of the universe. A perfectly sketched and crafted drama of an average Indian's life who was born to bear the burden of the ruling class.
